JOB BRIEF

Information security analysts are responsible for improving the overall security posture of the organization. They evaluate, test and document security solutions and controls, and work closely with other security team members to remediate risk while ensuring the business is able to innovate.

 

Information security analysts must continually adapt to stay a step ahead of cyber attackers and stay up to date on the latest methods attackers use to infiltrate an organization and its assets. Analysts in this role are expected to consistently learn and grow. This is not a passive career opportunity, but rather one that requires a passion for security and rigor to protect the business.

 

Information security analysts collaborate with technology management and business stakeholders, along with internal and external audit and assessment teams.

WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU

What you will do 

  • Serve on a distributed security and technology team responsible for establishing and maintaining cybersecurity technical controls.
  • Analyze systems and data sources for accidental, malicious and unauthorized activities
  • Serve as an additional security team member, aiding in incident response (IR) with the MSSP, IT, and security operations center (SOC) teams.
  • Support and maintain a wide range of cybersecurity technologies, including but not limited to SIEM, advanced endpoint detection and response, DLP, CASB
  • Secure and monitor information assets and a dispersed remote workforce 
  • Assist with security configuration standards for systems and business applications
  • Serve as a liaison with MSSP, IT, incident response, and software engineering team members
  • Serve as a Tier 1 after-hours on-call resource
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Who you are 

  • 0-1 year experience in information security administration or security operations
  • Previous experience working in a Security Operations Center
  • Understanding of current cyber vulnerabilities & threats
  • Experience in SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, advanced end-point protection, vulnerability scanning
  • Expertise in incident response and system monitoring and analysis
  • Experience investigating phishing and email-related attacks
  • Experience in one or more of the following frameworks is required: MITRE ATT&CK framework, OWASP, ISO 17799, NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), CIS Top 20
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workloads and deadlines
  • Experience with agile workflows, including Scrum and Kanban
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter who is motivated and driven to learn
  • Excellent judgment and the ability to make quick decisions when working with complex situations
  • High degree of integrity, trustworthiness, and confidence; represents the company and its management team with the highest level of professionalism
  • Security certifications, or equivalent experience
  • Preferably, one or more (or working toward one or more) of the following technical certifications: SANS GIAC, CompTIA Cybersecurity-related, AWS Certified Security, Sumologic

SALARY RANGE:
$25,000 - $30,000
